Effective October 1, 2026. Plain-language summary of what we collect and why.
PNW Contractor Network (“we”, “us”) runs pnwcontractornetwork.com, a directory and matching service that helps homeowners in Washington and Oregon find local contractors. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Questions? Contact us.
When you ask to be matched (Get Matched): the type of work, your city and ZIP code, your project details and timing, your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number. We also record your agreement to be contacted: the wording you agreed to, the date and time, your IP address and the page you used.
When you request a quote from a contractor’s profile: your name, email address, phone number, project ZIP code, timing, project details, which contractor you contacted, and your agreement to be contacted.
When you leave a review: your name, email address, star rating, project description and review text. We never display your email address. Like any WordPress site, we also store the IP address and browser type sent with the review to help prevent spam.
When you apply to list a business (Join): the business name, a contact name, email address, services, service areas and website.
When you contact us: your name, email address and message.
Automatically: like most websites, our servers log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which we use to keep the site secure and working.
Contractors. If you ask to be matched, we may share your project and contact details with up to three participating contractors who serve your area. Contractors may pay us for access to these requests, and the form says so before you submit. If you request a quote from a specific contractor, we share your request with that contractor (and, if they’re unavailable, with up to three participating contractors, as the form explains). Contractors are independent businesses and use your information under their own policies.
Service providers who run parts of the site for us: our web host, our email delivery service, Google Fonts (which loads the site’s typefaces, so Google receives your IP address), and, if you buy something from us, our payment processor. Card details go directly to the payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
When required: to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
We don’t sell your information to data brokers or advertisers.
Because contractors may pay us for access to homeowner requests, some state privacy laws, including Oregon’s, may treat that sharing as a “sale” of personal information. We share a request only after you’ve agreed on the form. You can ask us at any time not to share your information with any more contractors by contacting us. That stops future sharing; it can’t recall details already shared.
We use a small number of cookies needed for the site to work: for example, to keep signed-in accounts signed in, to remember your name and email in the review form if you choose, and to keep a shopping cart if you buy something. We don’t use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we’ll update this policy first.
We keep project requests, quote requests and the record of your permission for as long as we need them to handle your request, resolve questions or disputes, and meet legal obligations, and then delete them. Published reviews stay up until they’re removed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
You can ask us to:
To make a request, contact us using the email address you gave us. We may need to confirm it’s you before acting. Depending on where you live, including Oregon, you may have additional rights under state law, and you can appeal our decision on a request by replying to our response. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Homeowner contact details are visible only to our team and to the contractor(s) they’re shared with, and each time a contractor views them is recorded. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
This site is for adults planning work on their homes. It isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll make it clear on the site before it takes effect.
