KNOW BEFORE YOU CALL

Good questions to ask about landscaping.

Good landscaping in the Northwest works with the rain: drainage, plant choice and hardscape all affect how a yard holds up through wet winters and dry summers.

QUESTION 01

How will water drain away from the house?

Grading and drainage protect foundations and patios.

QUESTION 02

Which plants suit my sun, soil and upkeep level?

Native and drought-tolerant plants cut summer watering.

QUESTION 03

What maintenance will this need?

Ask for a realistic first-year care plan.

Before you hire: In Washington, most contractors must be registered with the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I). Look the business up with L&I’s Verify a Contractor tool before you sign anything. In Oregon, contractors who work on homes must be licensed by the Construction Contractors Board (CCB). Check the license on the CCB website before you sign anything.
